With hearts full of cherished memories and deep gratitude, we honor the beautiful life of Kathryn Ella Rogers (née Wagener), who departed this world on June 29, 2026, in Woodstock, Illinois. Born on February 23, 1940, in Park Ridge, Illinois, Kathryn’s 86 vibrant years radiated warmth, strength, and devotion—a legacy that now lives on in all who had the good fortune to know her.
Kathryn possessed a spirit both happy and strong, qualities that shone through in all she undertook, whether quiet domestic joys or bold steps in service to others. She delighted in the simple pleasures of life: pouring over the daily paper, immersing herself in scripture, playing Sudoku and challenging herself with crossword puzzles or a quick word find. She truly loved to paint and was a member of the Lake Geneva Art League for many years. Also her garden and houseplants flourished under her attentive care, her favorite flower was the African Violet.
Her avid curiosity led her always onward—ever a learner, Kathryn sought fresh knowledge, brimming with questions and eager discoveries. Yet among all her passions, none rivaled her devotion to family and friends. Time spent together with loved ones was a gift she both treasured and nurtured, filling her home and heart with laughter, conversation, and a profound sense of belonging.
Kathryn’s lifelong commitment to service stands as one of her proudest accomplishments. Amassing an extraordinary 10,000 volunteer hours at the hospital, she administered care through the Eucharist with boundless compassion and unwavering faith. Her presence was a source of comfort and inspiration to those she assisted, embodying a faith made manifest through selfless action.
In the fabric of her remarkable life, Kathryn grieved the loss of her beloved husband, William Rogers Sr., whose memory she carried with dignity and tenderness. She is mourned and celebrated by her children: Kathleen (Carl) Sarnacki, Deborah (Phillip) Nelson, William (Jennifer) Rogers Jr, and James (Valerie) Rogers. Proud Nana of 9 Grandchildren & 4 Great Grandchildren. Their devotion is a living reflection of her love and guidance .
Family and friends will gather to remember Kathryn at St Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 148 W Main St, Lake Geneva, WI 53147, for visitation beginning at 10:00 AM on July 17, 2026, followed by a Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at St Francis De Sales Catholic Cemetery, 6332 Wisconsin 50, Lake Geneva, WI 53147, at 12:00 PM.
Kathryn’s journey was one marked by compassion, resilience, and joy in the ordinary—a legacy as enduring as the love she shared. May her memory flourish like the gardens she tended, blessing generations to come.
