Memories of Karl Wallace
He loved music and was passionate about what was - and was not - good music. There was certainly no middle ground!

He had the best laugh, which one could not hear without joining in.

He lived life to the fullest. When we reconnected just a few short months ago, I was not at all surprised to learn of all of the activities in which he had taken part.

He was a true friend, always there to celebrate with you, truly listen when you needed to vent, and offer a shoulder when needed.

He loved his family and was head-over-heels over his granddaughter, who will miss out on all of the years that she should have had with him. My heart aches for her and all of his family.

The joy of reconnecting with him and the shock of losing him such a short time later has led me to examine my interactions with others. I vow to be more open to the joys of friendship - both old and new.

While the world has lost a truly special person, he lives on in the memories of everyone whose lives he touched.

Rest in peace, Karl - for a while. I fully expect to feel your presence shining throughout the universe soon - and am truly looking forward to it.

I can't believe he is gone. Karl and your whole family were so important to me. What I remember most about Karl was his sense of humor and his deadly serious take on things - often right on top of each other. Contradictions, I know, but that was Karl.

I remember sitting around late into the evenings with Karl, Mary Ryan and Mark Sanders, discussing politics and religion. We would watch the fireflies and the stars reflected in the lake and we would solve all the problems of the world. We were so wise back then.

I'm quite sure that Karl and Mark are sharing some jokes right now. They have a lot of catching up to do.

I remember how very proud he was of his kids. I thought he was a good father and I envied him that.

I know that of late he was having problems and I am so sorry about that. I hope the memory of the good times is what sustains you, the family and friends who were there at the end. My love to each one of you.
