William Gieselman Obituary

William B. Gieselman, 97, of Zenda, WI, died Tuesday February 16, 2021at his daughter’s home in Lima Township, WI.  William Bliss Gieselman was born in Chicago, IL on May 29, 1923 the son of the late William B. and Edyth (Watson) Gieselman.  He was a Veteran of World War II serving with the U. S. Army.  On December 14, 1963 in Richmond, IL he was united in marriage to the former Leota Ruenz.  He had  worked in the banking business in McHenry County for many years including the Wonder Lake State Bank.  He had been the Greenwood Township, IL Tax Assessor, He also had been Trustee and Secretary for the Wonder Lake, IL Fire Protection District.  He  had been a member of the Moose Lodge in Woodstock, IL, the 4-H clubs of McHenry County, IL and the McHenry County Chapter of Ducks Unlimited. He was just plain Bill a man who loved his family, friends and fishing.

Bill is survived by: Leota, his wife of 57 years, 4 children; Joanne (LeRoy) Schniederman, Eilene (Jerry) Mazouch, Marjorie (Rick) Hammeril, Sandra Schumann, 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, and a brother Robert.  He was preceded in death by a daughter Janet and a sister Gene Merica.  Per Bill’s request there will be no services.  The Derrick Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Gieselman family.  To post a condolence please click the "Share aa Memory" box on the left side of your screen.
