Shirley Ann (Byron) Pabich

Our beloved mother Shirley A. Pabich, 87, of Elkhorn, Wisconsin, passed away on August 26th, 2023, at Mercy-Janesville Hospital.

Mom was born May 28th, 1936, to the late Grady and Lillian (White) Byron in Elkhorn, Wisconsin.  The family soon moved to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.  Mom was one of four children born to Grady and Lillian.  She was a member of the graduating class of 1954 from Lake Geneva High School.  On June 9th, 1956, Mom was united in marriage at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church to our dad Henry J. Pabich.  Mom and Dad moved to Dad’s hometown area and were the owner/operator of Hank’s Pharmacy in Stanley, Wisconsin.

Mom was a loving, busy mother and homemaker raising five children with Dad.  She also found time to work at the drugstore, volunteer at the schools, and was a member of the Ladies Circle at the Church, Card Club, and the Snowmobile Club.  She and Dad were active in community organizations including the Commercial Club, Holy Family Church, the Lion’s Club, and Knights of Columbus.  In her later years Mom enjoyed visiting with family and neighborhood friends, cuddles with pets Sassy, Misty, Daisy and Ginger, reading the Stanley Republican from front to back and watching PBS mysteries.  

Mom is survived by her five children:  Dawn Pabich, Sharlene (Gene) Hejhal, Dean (Roberta) Pabich, Lorilyn (Jeff Koepke) Pabich, and Terry (Jenny) Pabich.  Mom is survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren along with a sister Lily (Ronald) Fibiger and sister-in-law: Agnes Byron.  Mom was preceded in death by Dad in 2017.  She was also preceded in death by her parents Grady and Lillian, her brother Clarence in 2021 and an infant brother, Dennis jr.

Services for Mom will be held on Thursday August 31, 2023, at 11:00am in the main chapel of Derrick Funeral Home in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.  Visitation will be held from 10:00am until the time of the service on Thursday.
