SharonLee Mestan Obituary

SharonLee Carolyn Mestan, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away on October 18, 2023 at the age of 78 surrounded by her family.  While our hearts weep for the loss of our angel, heaven rejoices with the addition of their new angel.

Sharon was a hard worker all of her life.  She worked at Northern Percision Casting for 19 years. For 40 years, she enjoyed a rewarding career as a hair stylist in Lake Geneva and Florida where her caring personality was only outmatched by her abilities.  She loved making people feel good about themselves. We came across her hand written note illustrating 20 steps to “Beauty Salon Psychology”.  Numbers 2-4 were be sincere, make the customer feel special and give a friendly welcome.  These attributes Sharon exhibited in her everyday life also. She made you feel welcome, she made you feel special and you never doubted her sincerity.

Sharon’s love and center were grandsons Zac and Mikey and daughter’s Theresa and Michelle. Her dog Bobby has been her co-pilot for 12 years. Their hearts are broken but know that their mom is at peace.

Sharon loved to go on bike runs with her brother Andy and his family. She so loved talking regularly with her sister Aurora and brother Tony to keep their distances within reach. She always had a ready ear for her nieces and nephews across generations.  She had friends who were family and family that were friends.  We were all rich with her presence in our lives.

Sharon is survived by her children, Theresa Deegan (Cindy) and Michelle Mestan (Lori), and grandsons, Zachary and Michael Deegan and Bobby her dog.  She is also survived by her siblings, Aurora (Dick) Lockwood, Andy (Roxanne) Zamora, and Tony (Linda) Zamora and a gaggle of nieces and nephews and in-laws and friends. Sharon was preceded in death by her son Michael - sisters, Shelley and Carmen - mother, Lois and grandmother Florence.

A Celebration of Life will be planned for the warmer weather that Sharon loved.  In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Lakeland Animal Shelter or the lung association.

Sharon's legacy will be celebrated by all who had the privilege of knowing her.  She will live on in our memories and in our actions as she joins her sisters in heaven.

It’s The Laugh

The warmest heart, even though she was always cold.

A booming heart, even though she was soft spoken, most of the time.

A giant heart, even though she was 4 foot something.

She would give you a voice by lending you an ear.

She would give you strength by lending you encouragement.

She would give you trust by lending you her attention.

She was comfort and joy.

Quick with a smile and forgiveness, as long as you didn’t use her hair cutting scissors.

She was humble yet fierce

She was loyal and protective

Her place was a safe place to talk or nap.

And to make her laugh was a goal for each one of us

And of course she made it easy.

Oh but her love and that laugh are what we may miss the most.
