Nancy R. Hackett, 86, formerly of the Lake Geneva area and most recently from the Greendale area passed away on August 23, 2020.
Born Nancy Ruth Marsh to the late Jason and Ruth (Davis) Marsh on May 15, 1934 in Lyons, Wisconsin. Nancy was a member of the graduating class of 1952 from Elkhorn High School. On August 29th, 1953 Nancy was united into marriage to Terry Hackett at the Congregational Church in Elkhorn, Wisconsin.
Nancy's infinite love for her family, friends, music, vegetable and flower gardening, Packer & Susie, children, and Terry, define her life. Nancy had a beautiful alto voice and sang in many choirs. She was still singing with her daughter Alisson and music therapist Erin to her last days. Nancy's professional career varied with the major emphasis as a preschool teacher denoting her true love for children. Nancy’s endless devotion to her husband of 67 years is beyond reproach. As a mother her love, developing each soul into independent thinking adults is evident in each of her four children’s lives. Nancy and Terry believe in our Lord our God and his son Jesus Christ. The more we receive their spirit in our lives the happier we are. When we leave this life bodily, our spirit remains. We might think of each good deed as a lit candle. Nancy's spirit leaves us with many candles.
Nancy’s husband of 67 years, Terry, survives her. 4 Children: Laurie (Steven) McGaffigan of Florida, Allison (Hal) Rubel of Carey, Illinois, Jon “Ben” (Sandy) Hackett of Greendale, Wisconsin, and Nathan (Kyoung) Hackett of Brookfield, Wisconsin all survive Nancy. 7 grandchildren: Jason (Kelly), Melissa (Max), Megan (Sahi), Casey (David), Patrick, Caitlin (Antonio), and Kerwin all survive Nancy. 5 great-grandchildren: A.J., Autumn, Luke, Zoey, and Cameron also survive Nancy.
