Lynn Arnette Stanley of Waterford, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 18th surrounded by her loving family.
Lynn was born in August, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois to Clara (“Dolly”) and John F. Stanley. The oldest of five children, she grew up in Niles, Illinois. A gifted student, Lynn graduated one year early from Main Township East High School. She attended Bryant Stratton Business School, going on to work in a busy corporate office in Chicago’s downtown loop. After two years in the city, Lynn went on to attend the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point, earning a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. It was in Stevens Point that she met her husband of nearly 48 years, Gary Schultz, of Silver Lake, Wisconsin. Lynn and Gary were married on March 30th, 1974.
Lynn and Gary moved to Waterford, Wisconsin in 1976, raising two daughters, Amy (Carman) and Carrie (Kolar). She worked for the Village of Waterford and was an active volunteer for her daughters’ Girl Scout troops and elementary school.
Lynn chose to retain her maiden name of Stanley. “Stanley”, as she was known to her close friends and family, had a great sense of humor and gift for words. She made quick work of crossword puzzles, excelled at Scrabble, and could play a fierce game of trivia. A consummate cook and host, she always made sure family and friends were well fed, a drink in hand, and enjoying their time spent in her home.
Lynn is survived by her husband, Gary Schultz, her daughters Amy (Aaron) Carman and Carrie (Douglas) Kolar, and her four siblings, Jack (Bonnie) Stanley, Christine Fisher, Jean (Bob) Chesney, and Mary (Rick Neier) Stanley. Lynn was loving grandmother, “Damma”, to Ava (Carman) and Elanor and Jonathan (Kolar).
A celebration of life is planned for Lynn on Saturday, April 23rd in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. For details, please contact amy@amycarman.com.
