Larry "The Hippo" Hicks

Larry Hicks, 79, of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin passed away at St. Luke’s Medical Center on July 1, 2020.

Born Larry Leonard Hicks to the late Verden and Winnie (Stuewer) Hicks in Pepin, Wisconsin on June 11, 1941.  Larry was a member of the first graduating class of Badger High School in 1959.  After graduating from high school Larry joined the United States Air Force.  In 1967 Larry was married to Linda Giles.

Larry had a passion for Racing, Carpentry and Golf.

Larry is survived by his two children: Traci Hicks of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, and Jason (Rachel) Hicks of Elkhorn, Wisconsin.  4 grandchildren: Hannah and Miranda Reiley along with Emily and Lexi Hicks survive Larry.  2 nieces: Kate (Joel) Hahn and Natalie Griffin along with 2 sisters; Judy (Bill) Weizel and Debra Griffin, friend Charlotte Schmidt and her children Debbie Schmidt Olson, Dani (Scott) Reiff,  and Darcey Schmidt Bauer also survive Larry.

Services for Larry will be held on Saturday July 25, 2020 at 5:00pm in the main chapel of Derrick Funeral Home.  Military honors will follow the service.  Visitation will be from 3:00pm till the time of service on July 25, 2020.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Walworth County Agricultural Society, Inc.  These donations will be used for a picnic table, bench or tree in Larry’s memory. If you choose to make a donation please make your check out to Walworth County Agricultural Society and mail them to the address below.
