Jeffrey M. Downing

Jeffrey M. Downing, 69, of Nesbit, MS, formerly of Lake Geneva and Elkhorn, WI, died Tuesday March 20, 2018 while vacationing in Peru.  Jeffrey Melvin Downing was born in Elkhorn, WI on August 39, 1948 the son of the late George and Elaine (Marquart) Downing.  On March 15, 1968, in Memphis, TN, he was united in marriage to the former Barbara Webster.  He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the United States Navy.  He was an engineer and entrepreneur in the computer industry. 

Jeff is survived by: Barbara, his wife of 50 years, a son Bart and his wife Amy a grandson Michael and 2 sisters; Susan (Scott) Wesner and Monica Hochevar.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing with his grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by a son BJ whose grave he visited often.

Services for Jeff will be held on Saturday April 7, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Como Community Church; Pastor Bob Kamps will officiate.  Burial will follow in North Geneva Cemetery.  Visitation will be Saturday, in church, from 11:00 a.m. until time of services.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy memorials are requested in Jeff’s name to: the Elkhorn Public Library or to the Lakeland Players Ltd.
