Jeanne A. Cusack, 89, of Lake Geneva area passed peacefully at home with her loving loving family by her side on Sunday March 26, 2023.
Born Jeanne Ann Markwell of the late Roy and Marianne Markwell (Rakowski) in Chicago, Illinois on July 18, 1933. Jeanne was the first of two kids, proceeded by her loving sister Carol Marie Markwell, who passed when she was very young. Jeanne grew up on the south side of Chicago, strengthened by a loving family and the Lord whom gave to us her loving younger sister Carol, that our Lord took into His loving embrace.
Jeanne met the love of her life, James Arthur Cusack, during his Army years, on a beautiful spring day in April, changing both their lives forever. James soon prepared the ring, and engraved words inside for Jeanne to read, that would last for a lifetime. Words that Jeanne as an accomplished Poet, Novelist and Story Teller, could not have better captured the two simple words that bond her and James together from the moment they met, “Forever April”.
These two words, framed their new life together, as she said yes to James’ Proposal, and these same words will continue with her, as she is laid to rest at Saint Mary’s Catholic Cemetery with James by her side with Forever April immortalized upon their Memorial stone. By her side, also rests her loving sister, Carol whom together with Jeanne share in the grace of our Lord God, with the affection of Christ Jesus.
Jeanne is survived by her four children, Deborah (and Albert) Stermer of Lake Geneva; Diane (and James) Hincks of Oak Lawn, Illinois; James (and Mary Jo) Cusack of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and John (and Patrizia) Cusack of Chicago, Illinois. Jeanne was called Gramma by her 12 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
To all who loved our beloved Jeanne (Jean), mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, and with the loving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, may she be home and safe in the loving arms of our Savior.
