Jeanette Polyock, 102, a long time resident of The Town of Linn, passed away peacefully Saturday November 16, 2018 surrounded by family. The former Jeanette Hawthorn was born July 13, 1916 in Hebron, IL the daughter of the late Frank and Floy (Reynolds) Hawthorn. On June 12, 1943, in Lake Geneva, WI, she was united in marriage to Gordon Polyock; he preceded her in death on March 9, 1998.
She graduated as valedictorian from Hebron High School. She attended the University of Colorado-Boulder and graduated from DeKalb, IL Teachers College. She taught for over 30 years in area schools.
In earlier years, she was a member of the Linn Neighborly Club and various card clubs. As a member of the Linn Garden Club, Jeanette enjoyed flower arranging. As a parishioner she enjoyed volunteering at Saint Francis deSales Catholic Church.
Jeanette was mother to: Allan and Gail Polyock, grandmother to Jake (Kim), Matthew (Molly) and Sarah and great-grandmother to Sam, Claire, William, Nathan and Sally Polyock. She so loved spending time with each of them.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday November 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Francis deSales Catholic Church in Lake Geneva; Father Mark Danczyk will officiate. Burial will follow in Saint Francis deSales Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, in Church, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
