Georgene (McAuliffe) Burke

Georgene Burke, 83, of the Lake Geneva area passed away at Village Glen on Sunday March 8th, 2020.

Born Mary Georgene McAuliffe to the late George and Margaret (Dowell) McAuliffe on October 11, 1936.  Mary, or Georgene as she is better known, had attended Notre Dame High School in Chicago Illinois.  On December 2, 1961 she was united into marriage to the late Edmund J. Burke Sr.

Georgene loved crossword puzzles, loved to golf, and she had a passion for bowling.

3 children survive Georgene: Ed Burke Jr. of Lake Geneva, James Burke of Walworth, and Mary Elizabeth Struck of Delavan.  7 grandchildren: Meghan (Aaron) Bashnick, Jennifer Burke, Joseph Burke, Burke Struck, Fletcher Struck, Griffin Struck, and Mackenzie Struck all survive Georgene.  3 sister: Phyllis Bona of Naples, Florida: Barbara (Nicholas) Radosta of Elmhurst, Illinois, Sharon (Thomas) Streit of Aurora, Illinois and 1 brother Don McAuliffe of Milwaukee, Wisconsin all survive Georgene.

Services will be held on Saturday March 14th, 2020 at 11:00am at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Lake Geneva.  A luncheon will follow the service at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family would like to make a donation in Gerogene's name to the Alzheimer's walk in September of 2020.  If you would like contribute please click the donations tab at the top of the obituary.
