Charlotte Schmidt passed away peacefully on January 24th, 2024.
Charlotte was born on July 15th, 1940 in Buchanan, MI to the late Jacob Freehling and Letha Freehling (Davis). She spent her childhood growing up in Michigan with her brother, Gary, and sister, Sue.
Charlotte enjoyed her time spent working as a Realtor as well as the time she spent raising her three children; Debbie, Darcey, and Dani.
Charlotte owned a bar that was located downtown Lake Geneva on Main Street called, "Charlotte's Bar" - they were known for their festive holiday decorations. Charlotte was very active in her community and spent years helping out with the Badger Booster Club and with the Lake Geneva Christmas Parade. With her being an avid snowmobiler and attending the World Championship races at Eagle River for over 30 years, she also helped with the Ride with the Champs that they did every year in February and the Snowmobile Hall of Fame which her best friends Loren and Carola were in charge of for many years. She was also a very popular gardener who loved planting flowers and planted flowers for many people over the years, even some people on Geneva Lake. She also loved the Oak Creek Marching Knights Band went to many of their performances over the years when her grandchildren were involved in band.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents; Jacob and Letha Freehling, her brother; Gary, and her daughter; Dani. She is survived by her sister; Sue, daughters; Debbie and Darcey, and her five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A celebration of Charolette's life will be held on Saturday April 6, 2024 at 4:00pm in the main chapel of Derrick Funeral Home. A gathering of family and friends will be held prior to the service starting at 2:30pm.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family has asked that you Donate in Charolette's name to the Walworth County Fair Agricultural Society.
