Barbara Jean Iwan, 76, of the Lake Geneva area died at her home on Friday January 31, 2020.
Born Barbara Jean Olmsted to the late Earl and Lucille (Jonaitis) Olmsted on November 12, 1943 in Waukegan, Illinois. Barbara was a member of the graduating class of 1961 from North Chicago High School. On June 30th, 1962 Barbara was united into marriage to Henry Iwan at St. Bartholomew Church in Illinois.
Barbara was a former member of St. Gilberts Parish in Grayslake, Illinois and current a member of St. Benedict’s Parish in Fontana, Wisconsin. Barbara was a Eucharistic Minister and Lecturer at both of her parishes. She Volunteered with Hospice and at the Open Arms Free Clinic and also helped out when she could at St. Vincent DePaul.
Barbara’s Husband of 57 years survives her. 4 children: Michael Iwan, Gail (Frank) Stopka, Kelly (Susan) Clark-Iwan, and Angeline (Michael) Massaro all survive Barbara. 10 Grandchildren: Alyssa Iwan, Sean (Sabrina) Stopka, Katie Stopka, Nicholas Iwan, Noah Iwan, Hannah Iwan, Mathew Massaro, Sam Massaro, Sophia Massaro, and Maxwell Clark-Iwan, 2 sisters: Betty (Gary) Munda and Linda (Jack) Webster and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins all survive Barbara.
Services for Barbara will be held on Monday February 10th, 2020 at 11:00am at St. Benedicts Catholic Church in Fontana, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held on Sunday February 9th, 2020 from 3:00pm till 7:00pm in the main chapel of Derrick Funeral. At 6:00pm on the night of the visitation there will be a small ceremony of remembrance held for Barabara.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy Barbara’s family have asked that you make a donation in her name to either the Open Arms Free Clinic or to St. Vincent DePaul. Links have been provided below.
