Allen Hallberg Obituary

Allen R. Hallberg, 68, of the Genoa City area passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2022, at Burlington Memorial Hospital.

Allen was born to late John and Dorothy (Peterson) Hallberg Sr. on December 19th, 1953, in Elmhurst, Illinois.  Allen was a member of the graduating class of 1972 from Mundelion High School.  Not far after graduating from high school Allen enlisted into the United States Navy on August 28th, 1972.

Allen loved to go fishing, loved the navy, loved to go to Ho-Chunk when he could but nothing was more important to Allen then the time he would spend with his family and when he would hang out with Mason.

Allen is survived by his significant other who has been by his side for 22 years, Janet Gleason.  Three children: Russell Hallberg, Derek (Virginia) Gleason and Brian (Holly) Gleason along with three grandchildren: Kiersten, Mason, and Kennedy all survive Allen.  Allen is survived by many siblings: John (Corky), Ann (Bob), Tom (Debbie), Patricia, James (Donna), Peggy (Irv), Nancy (Randy), Chuck (Tuesday), Cathy (Jeff), and Don (Sue).

Per Allen’s wishes a gathering of Friends and Family will be held at Derrick Funeral Home on Saturday August 13th, 2022, from 2:00pm till 4:00pm.  Military Honors will be held at 3:45pm at the funeral home.
