Sherry M. Joyce, 62, a lifelong resident of the Lake Geneva area died Sunday July 6, 2014 at her home in the village of Bloomfield. The former Sherry Marie Yakes was born in Geneva Township, WI on February 4, 1952 the daughter of the late Arthur and Vendella (Belcher) Yakes. On January 1, 1991 in Bloomfield Township, WI she was united in marriage to William Joyce. She had worked for many years at Intermatic Corporation in Spring Grove, IL. Sherry loved to knit, cook and bake, she was well known for her chocolate chip cookies which she sold, for several years, at Octoberfest in Lake Geneva.
She is survived by: 2 daughters; Jackie (Brian) Borst of Lake Geneva, WI and Cassie (Andrew Pappas) Pekul of Milwaukee, WI, a step-daughter Amanda (Adam) Farrell of Elkhorn, WI, 6 grandchildren; Erin, Joshua, Nathan, Chelsey, Keaton and Kayla and a great-grandson Caleb, a sister Carolle Jaklin of Green Bay, WI, 2 brothers; Thomas (Janet) Yakes of Lake Geneva, WI and James (Audrey) Yakes of Elkhorn, WI. She was preceded in death by a son Jeffrey Ball. Services will be held Saturday July 12, 2014, 12:30 p.m. in the chapel of Derrick Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lake Geneva; Reverend Mark Moller-Gunderson of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lake Geneva will officiate. The Joyce family will receive visitors Saturday, at the funeral home, from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
