Sharon “Shari” Kay Lundberg, passed away Wednesday, May 21 surrounded by her family that loved her very much. She was born to Donald and Francis Dunn of Lake Geneva, WI on October 30, 1945. Shari loved her family and friends with all her heart. On August 10, 1968, she was joined in marriage to the love of her life, LaMarr “Sparky” Lundberg. She was a proud mom to Heidi Otterness, and even more proud to be Nana to Cody Heindl and Grana to her granddogs, Zeus and Gator.
During her work career, Shari was a nurse, helped her husband at their taxidermy studio and served as a school nurse at Badger High School. She also loved volunteering in the community by helping with the Geneva Lake Museum , Lakeland Hospital Auxiliary, Mercy Hospital Auxiliary, Town of Linn Fire Department Auxiliary and classroom aid at Traver School. Shari was also, a former President of the Ladies Auxiliary with Frank Kresen Post 24. During that time, Shari was involved with the Poppy Sculpture in Library Park. She was a woman of God that loved her church family. She served on the altar guild and helped wherever she was needed. Shari also loved singing in the church choir along side of her daughter.
Shari was a woman of many talents. She was an extraordinary baker, cook, crafter and sewer. Over the years she made many Halloween costumes for family members. She loved to share her treats with all of her friends and neighbors. Shari also enjoyed playing games and making memories with all that she loved. The one secret talent that she had and is almost legendary; she could catch fish like no one else.
The world lost a wonderful wife, mom, nana, sister, aunt and friend. She is survived by her beloved husband LaMarr “Sparky” Lundberg, daughter Heidi (Orrick) Otterness, grandson Cody (Andrea) Heindl, sister Dona (Fritz) Button, nephew Scott (Ibuki) Button and family, along with many friends, “framily” and the Back Row Lutheran Ladies. She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Francis Dunn, younger sister Lynette and her most precious pets.
Shari was a survivor of scleroderma that she fought for over 20 years, and lived life to the fullest.
Memorial donations may be made to the Geneva Lake Museum .
Services for Sharon will be held on Saturday June 14th, 2025 at 6:00pm in the main chapel of Derrick Funeral Home. A gathering of family and friends will take place starting at 4:00pm on Saturday the 14th.
