With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life beautifully lived, the family of Sabina Borowski announces her peaceful passing on July 30, 2026, in Lake Geneva. Born on September 9, 1930, in Poland, Sabina's remarkable journey spanned nearly a century, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Sabina was the embodiment of warmth and hospitality, a true people person whose home was always open to friends, family, and neighbors alike. Her boundless love took the form of hearty meals, delicious baked goods, and vibrant gardens—a testament to her talents in cooking, baking, gardening, and entertaining. Guests never left Sabina’s table hungry or without the comfort of her laughter and stories. She was deft with a needle as well, sewing garments for loved ones with a graceful touch, and her adventurous spirit took her traveling far beyond her birthplace, culminating in her most cherished accomplishment: meeting the pope during a memorable visit to Vatican City.
Family sat at the very heart of Sabina’s world. She shared a devoted life with her beloved husband, John, whose steadfast partnership was the foundation of their family. Together, they nurtured a loving household, raising their daughters Grace (Frank) Gurak and Halina Chojnowski, while ever honoring the memory of their dear son, Marek, who preceded Sabina in rest. The family circle continued with her cherished sister Maria, and extended to her adored grandchildren, Monika (Ben) and Anthony (Danielle), and great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Penelope, and Daphne. Though she now rejoins in eternal peace her parents Piotr and Jozefa Borycka and her siblings—Stanislaw, Czeslaw, and Zofia—and her dear son-in-law, Albert, her spirit remains a guiding light for those who survive her.
Sabina’s legacy is inseparable from her commitment to caring for her family and friends and her kindness was everlasting.
