Robert (Bob) Bruno Jurewicz passed away on September 17, 2026, in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. He was born on May 1, 1941, in Oak Park, Illinois. A graduate of Badger High School’s class of 1959, Bob built a life around the skills he knew well and the people he cared for deeply. He married the love of his life, Judy LaBarre, on September 23, 1961, and they began to build their family together. Bob lived a life marked by hard work, generosity, and a deep devotion to God, his family, and his community.

Bob wore many hats over the years. He proudly owned and operated Bob's Repair Shop and then GT Racing and Repair on Townline Road in Lake Geneva for decades, becoming a familiar and trusted presence to many. He was a City of Lake Geneva Police Officer from 1968 to 1971. From there, he joined the Walworth County Sheriff’s Department and worked there until his retirement in 1987. Bob was a longtime member of First Lutheran Church and School and was also a member of the Lake Geneva Kiwanis Club from 1988 to 1996.

For Bob, the work he did was an extension of who he was. He loved helping others and this could be seen in his desire to share his knowledge and teach others what he knew over the course of his life. He often employed students from Badger High School’s autos classes who needed hands-on experience as well as community members who needed a little extra help or a second chance. He never turned away from those who came to him and was always ready to extend a helping hand.

“Uncle Bob,” as he was known to many, loved the years he spent at the Lake Geneva Raceway. One could always tell when it was almost racing season because he was busy working to get ready for that very first race.

Bob’s love of racing started in the early 1960s when he was going to the track and working on cars with his brother-in-law Ronnie Rodgers. Bob kept his passion for cars in the family, working with his nephew Randy Rodgers until 2011. This is when he became known as “Uncle Bob”. It was easy to see that he loved working in the pits and being around all the energy and excitement of a race night. He worked with many drivers over the years including Tommy Goff, Eric Dawson, and Sonny Schoffen.

All of these experiences reflected the energy, dedication, and enthusiasm Bob carried throughout his life.

Above all, Bob will be remembered as a family man whose love reached across generations. Over the years he could be seen with his wife, Judy, at the local schools attending concerts, performances, and ceremonies for both his children and all his grandchildren. It was important to Bob that his family knew that they were all loved unconditionally and that he was proud of each and every one of them.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Judy (LaBarre) Jurewicz, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage. He also leaves behind his son Jeff (Claudia Kautz) Jurewicz; his son Brian (Paulette Walter) Jurewicz and his daughter Kim May (fiancé, Glenn Mills). His memory will also be cherished by his six grandchildren, Sean (Michel) Jurewicz, Olivia May (Sean Homstad), Kyle May, Zachary May, Xavier (Judith Denham) May, and Madelyne May, as well as by his sister, Mary Lou Rodgers. The love he gave to his family and the steady support he offered throughout his life will remain with them always.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruno and Dorothy, his brother-in-law Ronnie Rodgers, his nephews Thom and Randy Rodgers, and by his grandchildren, Andrew and Hilary Jurewicz. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
