Robert Oliver Jones

Robert O. Jones, 76, a lifelong resident of Linn Township, died Wednesday April 13, 2016 at his home.  Robert Oliver Jones was born in Burlington, WI on December 30, 1939 the son of the Robert and Marion (VanValin) Jones.  He graduated from Lake Geneva High School in 1957.  He has farmed the family farm in the Town of Linn all his life.  On August 13, 1968 in the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, IA he was united in marriage to the former Christine Czaplewski.  He was an honorary member of the Linn Fire Department.  He was a member of 4H and F.F.A.; he was a recipient of the American Farmer Degree from F.F.A.

Robert is survived by:  Chris, his wife of 47 years, 2 children; Peter Jones of Linn Township and Nean (Doug) Frederick also of Linn Township, 4 grandchildren; Beth an Jonathon Jones, Devon and Sarah Frederick, 2 sisters Liz Tavera of Lake Geneva and Mary (Harold) Fritz of Peoria, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services for Robert will be Saturday April 16, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Derrick Funeral Home in Lake Geneva, WI; Pastor Terry Hennesy of the Linn Presbyterian Church will officiate.  Burial will be in Caldwell Cemetery in Caldwell, WI.  Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.  In lieu of other expressions of sympathy memorials are requested in Bob’s name to:   the Robert Jones 4H Scholarship Fund C/O Town Bank, Lake Geneva, WI.  Derrick Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the Jones family with arrangements.  To sign the on-line guest registry click guest book/condolences
