Richard Duwayne Redell

Richard (Dick) DuWayne Redell, 98, of Lake Geneva, WI, passed away peacefully on June 30th, 2023, at Golden Years of Lake Geneva.

Dick was born on March 21st, 1925, in the Village of Mazomanie, (Arena) WI,  to the late Herman and Gay (Jordan) Redell. On November 18th, 1948, Dick married Charlotte Louise Herwig in Arlington, WI. Dick was a devoted husband to Charlotte and a loving father to the five boys they shared. Dick was widowed in 1974. On November 8th, 1975, Dick married Arlene Carol (Potter) Crandall in Lake Geneva, WI.

Dick grew up on the family farm in Arlington, WI.  He spent many years of his life working as a welder and a pipefitter. He retired from the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 118. Dick served as a Corporal in the Army Air Corps and was honorably discharged in 1947. He also took pride in all his volunteer activities over the years. Dick became a Master Mason in 1962 and has been an active member for 61 years. He was an avid pilot for many years. He enjoyed his time outdoors and his never-ending projects.

Dick is survived by his wife of 47 years, Arlene; his five boys, Keith (Debra) Redell, Kenneth (Carol) Redell, David Redell, Donald (Becky) Redell, Steven Redell (Marianne Goodfellow); Daughter-in-Law Karen Redell; Step-daughter Teresa (Frank) Rizzo; his three grandchildren, Megan (Brad), Samantha (Tom), KC (Marisah); two step-grandchildren Andrew, Timothy; one great step-grandchild, Alma and other family and friends.

Dick is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Gay; his loving wife and mother of his children, Charlotte; his brothers, Raymond and Robert; his stepson David.

Dick's services will be held Saturday, July 22nd, 2023, in the main chapel of the Derrick Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10-12 noon, with the Masonic and Military funeral services immediately to follow.

Richard (Dick) Redell's family wishes to thank Holton Manor of Elkhorn and Golden Years of Lake Geneva staff for their kindness and care. The family asks that any memorials be made to local charities.
