Phyllis "Toots" Joy (Montgomery) Miller

Phyllis J. Miller, 92, of the Lake Geneva area passed away on February 12, 2025, at Village Glen.

Phyllis, or Toots as she was known to many,  was born on August 25, 1932, to the late Donald and Louise (Smith) Montgomery in Hebron, Illinois.

If you had to describe Phyllis with one word, that word would be dedicated.  Phyllis was dedicated to her family.  She was dedicated to her job as a custodian for 14 plus years, and there was nothing that would stop her from getting to work. When Phyllis had some down time, you could find her sitting on her front porch just hanging out and watching people go by.  When the weather was nice her son Mike would pick her up in his classic convertible and she would ride in the back, top down, wind blowing in her hair, smile on her face, and she would share stories of her driving her 1949 Mercury convertible.

Phyllis is survived by three of her family. Phyllis will also be survived by many grandchildren and friends.  Phyllis was preceded in death by her son, John Peterson and her parents Donald and Louise.

Services for Phyllis will be held on Sunday February 23, 2025, at 2:00pm in the main chapel of Derrick Funeral Home. There will be a gathering of family and friends starting at 1:00pm the day of the services.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family has asked that you make a donation in Phyllis name to Mt. Zion Christian Church .
