Patrick John Dinan

Patrick John Dinan passed away peacefully at his home on February 6th, 2017.  Patrick was born on December 10, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan to Gladys (Burns) and James William Dinan.  He graduated from Catholic Central High School and from Michigan State University where he earned a BA in sociology.  He was member of the Psi Upsilon Fraternity.   Upon graduation, he began a career in manufacturing management at Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan.  He retired after spending the last twenty years of his career with Bassett Furniture Industries where he was Regional Operations Manager.

He married Barbara Eardley on October 17, 1964 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and she survives.  He is further survived by his daughter Elizabeth Ring, son-in-law John Ring, and grandsons Patrick and Colin all of Lake Geneva.  His brother William (Mary) of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, his sister-in-law Ann Mathieson Dinan of Rochester, Michigan and brother-in-law James Michael Eardley of Grand Rapids, Michigan also survive, as do three nieces and five nephews.  His parents and 3 brothers predeceased him: James, Richard, and his twin Michael.

A celebration of Pat's life will be held on Thursday February 16th, 2017 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Hawks View Golf Course.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Geneva Family YMCA, the Lakeland Animal Shelter, the Lake Geneva Fresh Air Association, Special Olympics of Wisconsin, or Doctors Without Borders.

The family wishes to thank all who helped so steadfastly with Pat’s care.  There are no words to adequately express how much those efforts and the constant words of support from family and friends helped all along the way.
