Patricia "Pat" Paulson

The family of Patricia “Pat” Paulson of Fontana, Wisconsin is heartbroken and saddened to announce her passing on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at the age of 83 years.

Pat will be forever loved and remembered by her husband and best friend of 63 years, Thomas (“Tom”); her children: Thomas, Jr. (Mary), Cathleen (Jeffrey), Timothy (Kari) and Cheryl (Joseph); her grandchildren: Ana, Tommy (Halie), Dominic, Riley, Jennifer, Nolan, and Matthew; and her 1-year-old German Shepard, Gracie.  Pat was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first great-grandchild, Baby P, in December.

Pat was predeceased by her parents, Herman and Elsie DeSmidt; and siblings Herman and Mary Ann.

Pat was well known in the Fontana area as a travel agent and local business owner of Pat’s Places II Travel, which was located in downtown Lake Geneva.  She delighted in helping her clients with all their travel needs, whether it was a quick business trip or the trip of a lifetime.  Pat and her favorite travel partner, Tom, were globetrotters.   They traveled to all parts of the world, but their favorite mode of travel was cruising.  Pat and Tom took 63 cruises over the past 30 years.  After a lifetime of traveling, Pat was happy to slow down and enjoy dinners out with Tom, visits from her children and grandchildren, playing with her beloved dogs, and relaxing in her beautiful home in the woods.

A private family service was held on Friday, October 8, 2021.

The family would like to thank the incredible ICU doctors, nurses, and support staff at Javon Bea Hospital - Riverside.  These dedicated individuals are heroes every day but during Pat’s stay, they were our heroes.  We are grateful for the assistance of the Derrick family at Derrick Funeral Home for your heartfelt guidance and kind expression of sympathy.
