Nancy Mae (Nass) Parker

May 3, 1950 — January 18, 2024

Lake Geneva, Wisconsin

So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.

John 16:22

Nancy Mae Parker (Nass) 73 of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin passed away January 18, 2024, 6:30am at Geneva Lake Manor, surrounded by her son Bradley, daughter-in-law Daniella, and her baby sister Debbie.

Nancy was born in Wausau, Wisconsin May 3rd, 1950, to Diana Long - Nass (Voigt) and Rueben Nass. Nancy was baptized and confirmed in Wausau. Graduated from Wausau High School in 1968. Attended Platt College in St Joeseph Mo. After graduation she traveled a bit and settled in Waukegan, Illinois. In 1978 she had her son Bradley.

Over the years she held several jobs always tied to helping others: candy striper - Wausau hospital, House parent – Lambs Farm Libertyville Il, Bartender/Manager - Uncle Milties - Wausau, CNA-Mount View Manor Wausau Wi, communications – St. Therese/Vista Health Waukegan Il. And for many years she worked with her stepdad on various woodworking projects.

Nancy always had an infectious welcoming smile, and she loved to make others laugh. She was always quick with a comeback and had a colorful, sometimes raw, sense of humor.

During her last several years she was a resident of Pine Brook Pointe Assisted Living and Memory Care facility in Burlington, Wisconsin. She was a well-known resident with many friends. As she drew people to her and it wasn’t long before she knew every resident and staff member on a personal basis. When her health started to fail, Nancy was moved to Geneva Lake Manor in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Though her failing health got the best of her, she aways managed to give you a big hug and a smile.

Above all Nancy loved her family. This was evident in many conversations they would inevitably be worked into the conversation with conviction. She was devoted mother to her son Bradley as he was undeniably the pride and joy of her life. She left knowing he was in good hands with his loving wife Daniella. “Family” didn’t end at blood level; she had an open heart for everyone that she crossed paths with. Evident by the endless number of staff and residents that stopped by to visit. She took everyone under her wing. And has conversations were in progress she was already making a list of what to crochet next. Be it baby blankets, scarves, hats, it seemed to be a never-ending list. Explaining the sometimes-excessive amounts of yarn within arm’s reach.

Though Nancy may no longer be physically with us, her memory will forever be etched in our hearts. We mourn her passing but we also celebrate her beautiful soul.

She is survived by her son Bradley (Daniella), grandchildren; Darren, Kirsten and Collin, grand paws; Bear, Lexi and Nahla of Salem, WI, sister Carolyn Zernicke (Wally) of Wisconsin Rapids, brother Dale Nass (Barb) of Wausau, sisters Chris Shebenik of Wisconsin Rapids and Deb Nass of Pensacola, FL, Sister-in-law Debbie Nass (Calvin) of Marathon, step sister Beverly Rice (Pat) Wausau; and is also survived many nieces and nephews whom she adored.

Preceded in death by her mother Diana Long (Voigt) stepfather Marvin Long, Father Rueben Nass, brother Calvin Nass and brothers-in-law David Hilber and Tony Shebenik. Grandparents; Alfred and Anorma Voigt, Max and Ella Nass.
