Myra Maxine (Render) Rude

Myra Maxine Rude, 94 passed away peacefully on Monday, November 22, 2021 at her home at Sherwood Lodge in Williams Bay, WI.

Maxine was born on February 9, 1927, in Harrisburg, IL and was raised by her loving parents Alvin and Opal Render and with her siblings Raymond, June, Meverine and Carolyn. She married Charlie Rude on May 4, 1952, in Harrisburg.  They were married for 57 years before his passing in 2009.

Maxine and Charlie and their family moved to Lake Geneva in 1962.  She was a stay at home mom for many years, until becoming the secretary for the Lake Geneva United Methodist Church in 1975.  She was the church secretary for 26 years.   Maxine was a member of the United Methodist Church for nearly 60 years and served on various committees during that time.  Maxine was also a founding member of the Lake Geneva Day Care and served on its board until just a few years ago.

Surviving are her daughter, Lisa (Keith) of Fox Lake, IL; and son, Eric of Lake Geneva, WI.   She also has two grandchildren, Charlie David and Molly Anne whom she adored and loved to spoil.

A memorial service for Maxine will be held on Tuesday, December 7 at 1:00 pm at the Lake Geneva United Methodist Church with Pastor Heather Brewer officiating.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Maxine’s name to the Lake Geneva United Methodist Church.
