Myles D. Beckum, 74, of Lake Geneva, WI, died Wednesday May 30, 2012 at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn, WI. Myles Derwood Beckum was born in Tampa, FL on March 20, 1938 the son of the late Charles and Alma (Alligood) Beckum. He was raised in Zephyr Hills, FL. He Served with the United States Air Force and then with the Air Guard. On June 14, 1959 in Beloit, WI he was united in marriage to the former Bonnie Campbell; she preceded him in death on December 31, 2004. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater with a degree in education. He taught for many years at the Northwestern Military & Naval Academy in Lake Geneva, WI.
Myles is survived by: 2 children; Myleen Beckum of Columbus, OH and Charles Beckum of Whitewater, WI, 2 grandchildren; Alexandra and Sarah Beckum of Whitewater, WI and a brother Tyrone (Joanne) Beckum of Florida. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Charles, Glen, and Joseph Beckum and a Sister Angie Beckum.
Services will be Monday June 4, 2012 at 12:00 p.m.in the chapel of the Derrick Funeral Home, 800 Park Dr. in Lake Geneva; Pastor Chuck Cervenka of Calvary Community Church in Williams Bay will officiate. Burial will be in Hartland Village Cemetery in Hartland, WI. The Beckum family will receive visitors Monday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
