On December 28, 2024, surrounded by the love of his wife and children, Michael (Mike) Miller of Williams Bay, Wisconsin peacefully passed away. After his diagnosis on February 20, 2024, Mike fought Glioblastoma brain cancer for ten months before he passed. Despite impacts to his short-term memory, Mike lived his last months to the fullest, always smiling, with support from family and friends.
He was born on February 5th, 1966, in Elmhurst, Illinois, to Martin and Joyce (Ciampi) Miller. Mike married his high school sweetheart, the love of his life, and his best friend, Yvonne (Blonski) Miller, on October 7th, 1990, and they shared 34+ years of a loving, devoted marriage. Together, they raised four amazing children — Zachary, Matthew, Olivia and Caroline. Family was Mike’s pride and joy and what he lived for.
Mike is survived by his siblings: Cathy (Bill) Chaplain, Marty (Michelle) Miller, and Steve Miller (Mirela), as well as his mother-in-law Wieslawa Blonski, sister-in-law Lisa (Andre) White, and his brother-in-law Mark Blonski. Mike was predeceased by Alfred (Dzia Dzia) Blonski and his nephew, Christian Blonski-Alvarez. He was also deeply loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Mike spent his childhood playing hockey, he was an amazing goalie – which he’d tell you was the hardest position in sports.
Mike is a proud alumnus of Elmhurst College, with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, and the University of Southern California, with a Master’s in Computer Science (Fight On!). Mike had a successful and dedicated career, working at Demar Direct as Vice President of Operations for 28+ years. His commitment to hard work and his ability to care for others were hallmarks of his career.
He considered his family his greatest achievement and loved them unconditionally. His happiest moments were when they were all together. Spending time at the lake, laughing with friends, or cheering on the Chicago Bears and the USC Trojans were among his many hobbies. Although his favorite was “doing anything with Yvonne”. He also had a passion for cars, cherished phone calls, and was quick to share (dad) jokes.
Mike’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and he will be remembered for his kindness, his caring and patient demeanor, and his dedication to family. He leaves behind a legacy of love and service, and he will be missed dearly by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. To know Mike was to love him.
Services to honor Mike’s life will be held on January 10th, 2025 at St. Francis de Sales Church, 148 W Main St., Lake Geneva, WI 53147. Visitation will begin at 10:00am with a mass to follow at 11:45am. Luncheon to follow mass at Pier 290, 1 Liechty Dr., Williams Bay, WI 53191.
The family would like to thank all those who have stepped in as caregivers with Mike’s journey fighting Glioblastoma. Your love, support, kindness, patience, grace, and sacrifice did not go unnoticed. We are forever grateful and blessed.
In lieu of flowers, Mike’s family would like to bring awareness to this heartbreaking disease. Glioblastoma is the most aggressive type of brain cancer with no known cures despite being the most common malignant brain tumor. The family asks that donations be made to:
