Merlyn B. Hoffer, lovingly known as Dolly, was born on January 2, 1935, in Wisconsin. She passed away peacefully at her home on September 28, 2025, leaving behind a legacy filled with love and cherished memories.
Dolly dedicated her life to her family, fully embracing the role of a homemaker. Her heart was a sanctuary where her seven children—Mary Jean, Rhonda (Gary), Michael, Bradly (Amanda), Randall (Karen), Troy, and Tami (Tim)—found unconditional love and support. Each moment spent with her children was a testament to her devotion, as she nurtured them with care and compassion. She also delighted in the joys of being surrounded by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought endless happiness into her life.
Beyond her family, Dolly had a vibrant spirit that shone through in her hobbies and interests. A devoted football fan, she reveled in watching games, especially those featuring the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers. These moments brought her excitement, laughter, and a sense of camaraderie. Dolly also had a love for puzzles and found solace in the presence of cardinals, which served as a reminder of the beauty and joy of life.
While Dolly's heart was filled with love for her living family, it also carried the profound sadness of loss. She was preceded in death by three children—Carol, Richard, and Jonathon—as well as her beloved parents, Benjamin and Mabel Blair, and two siblings, Rick and Joe. Their memories lingered in her heart, a blend of sorrow and love that enriched her life’s journey.
Dolly's legacy is one of warmth, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched. Her spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of her loved ones, who will carry on her legacy of love and togetherness.
