Mary Alice (Massey) Wortman

Mary Alice Wortman PhD, 69, passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, December 4, 2013. Dr. Wortman was born in Lake Geneva, WI in 1944. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin and after serving as Vice President of Corporate Training at CNA Insurance in Chicago, she obtained a master’s degree from the University of Chicago, and a PhD from Northeastern University in Boston.
She is survived by her husband John Wortman and her brother Robert Massey of Milwaukee. A second brother Francis preceded her in death. Other survivors include two nieces Dana Massey and Heather Massey, two step children, and seven step grandchildren. Mary Alice and John have lived in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL since 1999.
A Memorial service will be held on Friday December 20th, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Lake Geneva, WI. Burial of cremains will be immediately following the service at St. Francis De Sales Cemetery.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family has requested that you make a donation in Mary Alice's name to North Florida School of Special Education. A link to their website has been provided at the bottom of the page for your convenience.

The Derrick Funeral Home and Cremation services of Lake Geneva and the Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Jackson Beach Florida have been assisting the family.
