Mary E. Picchietti “Aunt Mary”, 87, of Lake Geneva passed away Wednesday October 2nd at Lakeland Medical Center. Mary Elizabeth Picchietti was born on January 26th, 1926 to the late Enea and Elizabeth (Murphy) Picchietti in Highland Park Illinois. Mary graduated from Highland Park High school in 1944. After high school Mary attended Barat College in Lake Forest Illinois where she graduated with a degree in Teaching. Mary then attended Roosevelt University where she received her Masters in Teaching in 1969.
Mary was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She was a member of the Honorary Teachers Organization. Mary was a Life Member of Lake County Retired Teachers association; she was a member of the Illinois and The National Education associations.
Many nieces and nephews on both the Boilini and the Picchietti sides of the family survive Mary. She is also survived by a sister-in-law June Picchietti.
Mary was preceded in death by a brother Louis Picchietti and a sister Helen Picchietti Boilini.
Mass of Christian burial for Mary will be held on Monday October 7th, 2013 at 11:00a.m. at St Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Lake Geneva, WI: Father Jim Scheurman will be presiding. Burial will be Tuesday October 8th, 2013 at 11:00a.m. at Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Libertyville, Illinois. Visitation for Mary will be Sunday October 6th, 2013 from 4:00p.m. till 6:00p.m. in the chapel of Derrick Funeral Home in Lake Geneva, WI. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family has asked that you make a donation in Mary’s name to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lake Geneva.
