Martin C. Kearns, 76, of Lake Geneva, WI, died Sunday September 15, 2013 at Mercy Walworth Hospital. Martin Clarence Kearns was born in Joliet, Illinois on January 26, 1937 the son of the late Clarence and Agnes (Testin) Kearns. He graduated from Joliet Catholic High School in 1955; he then earned a B.S. Degree and a M.S. Degree in Education from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. On June 1, 1963 in Rockford, IL he was united in marriage to the former Karan Barkley. He had worked as a food broker for many years. He was a member of the Lake Geneva Lions Club.
Martin is survived by: Karan, his wife of 50 years, 2 sons; Christophe Kearns of Elkhorn, WI and Mark Kearns of Grays Lake, IL.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:30 a.m. on Friday September 20, 2013 at Saint Benedict Catholic Church in Fontana, WI; Father Norberto Sandoval will officiate. The Kearns family will receive visitors Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Derrick Funeral Home, 800 Park Dr. in Lake Geneva, WI.
On Saturday September 28, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. there will be a Memorial Service for Martin at the Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St. in Naperville, IL. Martin's family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until time of services.
