Lake Geneva

Marilyn Kay Meck, née Peak, passed away on September 27, 2026, in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, at the age of 77. She was born on February 23, 1949, in Girard Kansas.

Marilyn will be remembered as a loving woman whose greatest joy was spending time with her friends and family. She graduated from Girard High School in 1967 and carried with her a warmth and spirit that drew people close throughout her life. She loved gardening, and her flower beds were kept with great care and pride, reflecting the beauty and attention she gave to the world around her. She also treasured time spent with her best friend, Pauline Malsch, whose companionship was a meaningful part of her life.

She was also known for her enthusiastic devotion to her favorite teams. Marilyn was a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan and also cheered faithfully for Kansas  Jayhawks basketball, passions that surely brought energy and enjoyment to many seasons of her life.

Above all, Marilyn’s family was at the center of her heart. She is survived by her daughter, Kristin Schmidt; her son, Chad Meck; and her son-in-law, Daniel Schmidt. She also leaves behind her brothers, Jim Peak and Jeff Peak, and their wives, Kathy Peak and Tracie Peak. Her love will continue through her grandchildren, Logan Schmidt and Owen Schmidt, who were a cherished part of her life.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dave Peak Jr.; her mother, Arlene Peak; her brother, Richard Peak and Sister-in-Law Betty Peak.

Marilyn Kay Meck will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her devotion to family, her enduring friendships, her love of gardening, and the happiness she found in the people she held dear. Her memory will remain a lasting blessing to all who knew and loved her.
