Margaret Elizabeth (Gault) Firestone

Margaret E. Firestone, 100, of Fontana, WI died on March 8th, 2018 at Artisan Nursing Home in Lake Geneva, WI.

Born Margaret Elizabeth Gault to the late Paul and Selma Gault on October 27th, 1917 in Marengo, Illinois.  On September 13th, 1929 in Sharon, Wisconsin Margaret was united into marriage to Russell.  Russell preceded Margaret in death in 1981.   On December 1, 1984 in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin Margaret was united into marriage to the Reverend Jesse Firestone.

Margaret was a member of the Linn Presbyterian Church in Lake Geneva, a member of the Fontana Garden Club, and the Town and Country Garden Club of Lake Geneva.  Margaret wrote a column, “Along the South Shore” for the Walworth Times and contributed articles to the Lake Geneva Regional News and the Beacon of Williams Bay.  Margaret wrote a book, “Nostalgic Lake Geneva” which was first published in 1996 and was well received.

Three sons survive Margaret:  Barry (Margo) Pufahl of Pardeeville, Wisconsin; Richard (Kathleen) Pufahl of Fontana, Wisconsin; and Gregory (Donna) Pufahl of Twin Lakes, Wisconsin.  8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-great-grandchildren all survive Margaret.  Margaret was preceded in death by her two husbands, Russell and Jessie, her sister Virginia and her brother Richard.

Services for Margaret will be held in the spring.
