Marcia L. Gunderson, 86, of Lake Geneva, WI, formerly of Park Ridge, IL, died Friday April 25, 2014 at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center. The former Marcia Louise Scheunemann was born in Park Ridge, IL on December 31, 1927 the daughter of the late Herman and Ada (Nielsen) Scheunemann. She graduated from Maine East High School in Park Ridge, IL in 1944. On April 17, 1948 in Park Ridge, IL she was united in marriage to Robert Gunderson; he preceded her in death on November 14, 2006. She had been a Real Estate Agent in Park Ridge for many years. She was a member of Saint Luke’s Lutheran Church in Park Ridge, IL and a Past President of the Saint Luke’s Church Council. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lake Geneva, WI. She was a former member of the Northwest Suburban Board of Realtors and a former member of the Park Ridge Y.M.C.A. Board of Directors.
Marcia Gunderson is survived by: 2 sons; Mark (Mary Ann) Moller-Gunderson of Lake Geneva and Gary Gunderson and his wife Janette Fleming Gunderson of Burlington, WI, 4 grandchildren; David (Kathy Brockdorf) Moller-Gunderson, Maria (Dustin) Dean, Rheanna Gunderson and Jennah (Alex) Dechantigny, 4 great-grandchildren; Oliver, Daniel, Robert and Haley, a brother Donald Scheunemann of Park Ridge, IL. She was preceded in death by; a grandson Brent “Corey” Fleming, 2 sisters; Beverly Herman and Barbara Scheunemann and a brother Warren Scheunemann.
Services will be held on Tuesday April 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Luke’s Lutheran Church, 205 N. Prospect Ave., Park Ridge, IL 60068; Reverend Larry Lutey will officiate. Burial will follow in Town of Maine Cemetery in Park Ridge. Visitation will be Monday in Saint Luke’s Lutheran Church from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday after 10:00 a.m. There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering and Meal on Sunday May 4, 2014 , at 4:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lake Geneva. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy memorials are requested in Marcia’s name to: Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 700 N. Bloomfield Rd.
