Laurene "Laurie" (Krischon) Mckaig

Laurene A. “Laurie” McKaig, 62, of Big Bend, WI, formerly of Lake Geneva, died Sunday October 5, 2014 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital in Waukesha, WI. The former Laurene Ann Krischon was born in Chicago, IL on April 15, 1952 the daughter of the late Stephen and Ruth (Stelbecki) Krischon. She graduated from Badger High School in Lake Geneva in 1970 and then from Gateway Technical College with an associate degree in marketing. She worked for many years as an insurance agent. Laurie was a member of the Double Up Mother of Twins Club, she enjoyed shopping and traveling, she especially enjoyed attending festivals in Milwaukee.
Laurie is survived by: 3 children; Derek (Charlene) McKaig of Lake Geneva, WI, Denise (Todd) Ritzman of Big Bend, WI and Brandon (Melissa) McKaig of Bloomfield, WI, 8 grandchildren and a sister Janice Almberg of New Port Richey, FL.
A Celebration of Laurie’s life will be held on Saturday October 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lake Geneva; Pastor Mark Moller-Gunderson will officiate. The McKaig family will receive visitors Saturday in church from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. Memorial remembrances in Laurie’s name may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 700 N. Bloomfield Rd., Lake Geneva, WI 53147. Derrick Funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting the McKaig with arrangements.
