Karen A Johnson

September 20, 1940 — April 10, 2026

Karen A. Johnson, born on September 20, 1940, in Illinois, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, at Arbor Village in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Her life was marked by warmth, dedication, and an enduring love for her family and community.

Karen was a devoted mother to her children, Lynn Broderick, David Johnson, and Matthew Johnson. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support were pillars in their lives, guiding them through all seasons with grace. She was also a proud grandmother, leaving behind treasured memories with her grandchildren Drew Johnson, Ethan Hasselberger, Kayla Heidenreich, and Carter Johnson, each carrying forward her legacy in their own unique ways.

Family remained at the heart of Karen's world. She shared a close bond with her sister, Lynne Katzfey, whose companionship and shared history brought comfort and joy throughout their lives. Together, they navigated the challenges and celebrations that life presented, fostering a lifelong connection rooted in mutual respect and affection.

Karen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elmer Johnson, whose partnership enriched her years and whose memory she cherished deeply. She was also preceded by her parents, Thomas and Marion, whose upbringing laid the foundation for the woman Karen became—a woman of strength, kindness, and principle.

As we remember Karen A. Johnson, we honor a life well-lived, defined by love and perseverance. She leaves behind a family and community who will miss her profoundly but who are grateful for the time shared and the enduring impact she has made on all their lives. Her presence will be dearly missed, yet her spirit will continue to inspire those who had the privilege to know her.
