Joan Martha (Peterson) Emmer

October 1, 1938 - January 29, 2025 Joan was born October 1, 1938, in Carney, Michigan to Alfred and Anna (Lucke) Peterson. She passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, in her home in Lake Geneva. She married the love of her life Richard Emmer on March 3, 1956, in Woodstock, Illinois.

Joan and Richard made their home in Chemung, Illinois. For many years, she was a bus driver for Harvard School District. Joan and Richard enjoyed vacationing and fishing. She was an avid gardener and nature was her religion. She enjoyed painting and reading. Joan loved Starbucks and listening to Willie Nelson. Her pride and joy were her cats Baby Kitty and Gilligan.

Joan is survived by her children Bonnie Janeway, John Emmer, and Kelly Emmer; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; sister, Marjorie LaBelle; best cousin Paula; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, husband, daughter, and a grandchild.

A celebration of life will be planned for later this year.
