Jerry Hutter, age 61, of Lake Geneva, passed away on September 16th, 2025. A devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and cherished friend, Jerry touched countless lives with his kindness, humor, and unwavering love for family.
Jerry faithfully served his country in the United States Army for 11 years, a period of his life that instilled in him loyalty, dedication, and strength—qualities he carried with him always.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Beth Hutter, his nine children: Benjamin (Mandi) Hutter, Florin (Nicole) Nae, Joshua (Hailey) Hutter, Nathan (Madison) Hutter, Jacob Ostrander, Timothy Hutter, Jordan Ostrander, Alexandra Ostrander, Katie (James) Fuller, along with many dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Jerry’s passions brought joy to those around him. He found happiness in woodworking, camping, playing card games such as Crazy 8’s and Cribbage, and the occasional round of golf with his sons. He was a lifelong fan of the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers—never missing a chance to cheer them on. Jerry especially loved celebrating his birthday by gathering family and friends to bake cornflake scotchies and cheer for the Badgers. Beth’s imaginative cracker mix was one of his favorite treats, while vegetables always seemed to mysteriously make their way to his loyal four-legged friend, Snickers.
Jerry’s home was always open and full of love. He and Beth welcomed multiple exchange students as well as countless friends of their children, who were in need, treating them as if they were their own. His heart knew no limits when it came to caring for others. Above all, Jerry adored his grandchildren. They were the light of his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
To know Jerry was to know the kindest soul, someone who left every person he met better for having known him. His love for family and friends was immeasurable, and the memories he created will forever live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to be part of his life.
Jerry’s funeral will be held at 12:00 p.m. on October 3rd, 2025, at First Lutheran Church in Lake Geneva.
He will be deeply missed, but his love, laughter, and spirit will continue to guide those who loved him.
