James John Leska passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026. Born on March 27, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois, James led a life defined by dedication, passion, and service.
A proud and honorable veteran, James served his country with distinction in the United States Army. Following his military service, he cultivated a lifelong career in automobiles, investment properties, a passion that would shape both his career and his legacy. Early in his professional journey, James worked for “Ford Lincoln Mercury Gordie Boucher” as an auto mechanic, honing his skills with determination and precision. This experience laid the foundation for what would become his proudest accomplishment—the ownership and operation of In-Motion Automotive in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. For twenty years, James successfully ran this establishment, earning respect and admiration from clients and community members alike.
Beyond his professional achievements, James was a man who cherished his personal interests and values and he was always a man of his word. His love for animals was well known among those who knew him, reflecting his compassionate nature. Cars were not merely his profession but also his hobby and lifelong interest, an area where his enthusiasm and expertise seamlessly intersected.
James is survived by his son, Jamie; (Jacquelyn); his sister, Lynnette; (Daniel) nephew Gabriel (Daniel) and his brother, Ronald. They carry forward his memory and the enduring impact he had on their lives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald Leska and Shirley (Dalzell) Andersson whose memory he honored throughout his life.
Services to honor James John Leska’s life will be held on May 22, 2026, beginning with a visitation from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Derrick Funeral Home & Cremation Services, located at 800 Park Dr, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will take place from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the same venue, Pastor Chuck from Calvary Community Church will be presiding. The day’s remembrances will conclude with inurnment at Bloomfield Cemetery in Genoa City, Wisconsin, beginning at 3:30 PM, with full military honors. Please gather with us to honor James memory, share stories, and cherish the time we were blessed to know him.
James’s legacy is marked by a steadfast commitment to his craft, his country, and his family. He will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments and dedication but also for his kindness, his passions, and the warmth he shared with those around him. His contributions to his community and the lives he touched endure as a testament to a life well-lived.
