James "Jim" Frederick Schmitt

James “Jim” Schmitt, 83, of Williams Bay, WI, passed away Wednesday July 13, 2022 at his home.  James Frederick Schmitt  was born May 25, 1939 the son of the late Frederick and Evelyn (Lortie) Schmitt.  Jim enlisted in the United States Army on June 26th, 1956 and proudly served for four years while he was stationed in Germany.  On February 28, 2018 he was united in marriage to the former Mary Healy.  Jim was a caring, giving  family man who loved to travel and walk on the beach.  He loved doing jig saw puzzles.

Jim is survived by: his wife of four years, Mary.  Two daughters; Michelle (Dave) Schmitt-Sheedy and Leslie Schmitt, three grandchildren; Cade, Kiley and Brynn, his brother Thomas (Diane) Schmitt and his sister Susan (Ron)  Grantaz all survive him.  He was preceded in death by: three sisters; Virginia Sexton, Lynn Zellner and Judy Sterner.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday July 29, 2022 at Saint Benedict Catholic Church in Fontana at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will be Friday, in church from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
