Jack L. Winger Sr., 77, of Elkhorn, WI, formerly of Lake Geneva, died Monday June 1, 2015 at his home. Jack LeRoy Winger was born in Baraboo, WI on August 20, 1937 the son of the late Loren L and Myrna (Withrow) Winger. On January 27, 1957 in Lake Geneva, WI he was untied in marriage to the former Geraldine Oninski. He worked as a special checker for American Motors in Kenosha for many years.
Jack was a championship bowler and coached bowling for many years at Lake Geneva Lanes in Lake Geneva and 2 Seasons Lanes in Elkhorn. He was an avid hunter, a skilled trap shooter and an avid fisherman. He also was an A.K.C. Night Hunt Judge.
Jack is survived by: Geraldine, his wife of 58 years, 5 children; Diana (Raland) Stolzer of Boscobel, WI, Jack (Diana) Winger Jr. of Lake Geneva, WI, Steve (Carla) Winger of Prairie Du Chien, WI, Matthew Winger of Waterloo, WI and Lorenna (Richard) Brown of Lake Geneva, WI, 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and a brother Grant (Georgianna) Winger Sr. of Linn Township, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Mark, a brother Michael and a sister Lorna Hanson.
Services for Jack will be held Thursday June 4, 2015, 1:30 p.m., in the chapel of Derrick Funeral Home in Lake Geneva; Pastor Robert Peiffer of the Community Church of Elkhorn will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Geneva. The Winger family will receive visitors Thursday, at the funeral home, from 11:30 a.m. until time of services.
