Irene H. (Button) Witte

Irene H. Witte, 91, of West Allis, WI, formerly of Lake Geneva, WI, died Thursday August 8, 2013 at Village of Manor Park Nursing in West Allis, WI.  The former Irene Helen Button was born in Lake Geneva WI on February 27, 1922 the daughter of the late Alexander and Pearl (Powell) Button.  She graduated from Lake Geneva High School in 1940 and then from Milwaukee State Teachers College in Milwaukee, WI with a degree in education.  On March 24, 1944 in Lake Geneva, WI she was united in marriage to Harold Witte; he preceded her in death on September 3, 1966.  She was a member of Gama Phi Beta Sorority and was a member and Past President the West Allis Women’s Association for over 50 years.
Irene is survived by: 2 sons; Mark Witte of West Allis, WI and Michael (Joan) Witte of Aviston, IL, and 3 grandchildren; Michael John, Angela and Jonathon.
Services for Irene will be held Thursday August 15, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Derrick Funeral Home in Lake Geneva; Reverend Earl F. Lindsay will officiate.  Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Geneva.  Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services.
