Harry G. Poulson, a dedicated machinist and passionate enthusiast of antique John Deere tractors, passed away on April 13, 2026, in Cecil, Ohio. Born on May 5, 1942, Harry’s life was marked by steadfast commitment to his profession and the joys found in his cherished hobbies.
Harry devoted 39 years of his career to the GM Powertrain facility in Defiance, Ohio, where he worked with skill and precision as a machinist. His dedication to his craft was a testament to his strong work ethic and his pride in contributing to an essential industry.
Outside of his professional life, Harry found great pleasure in restoring and pulling antique John Deere tractors, a passion that brought him both joy and fulfillment. This cherished pastime was an enduring part of his identity, reflecting his love of tradition and mechanical expertise.
Harry is survived by his beloved wife, Karen Poulson; his son, Bryan Poulson, and daughter-in-law, Jodi; and his daughter, Stephanie Poulson. He also leaves behind three grandsons: Jake Arend, Connor Arend, and Josh Poulson, along with Josh’s wife, Sierra. Harry’s family circle includes his brother Ted and sister-in-law Nancy, who remember him fondly. The bonds Harry shared with his loved ones reflect the deep roots and strong connections he nurtured throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Mabel Poulson, and his brother Charles, whose memories live on in the hearts of those who knew them.
A visitation to honor Harry’s life will take place on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Derrick Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at Linn-Hebron Cemetery beginning at 3:15 PM, providing a solemn and respectful farewell to a man whose life touched many.
Harry G. Poulson’s legacy is one of dedication, family devotion, and a passion for the mechanical heritage embodied in his beloved tractors. He will be remembered with respect and affection by all who had the privilege to know him.
