Gwen Gerber, 85, a lifelong resident of the Lake Geneva area died on Sunday January 17th, 2016 at Lakeland Nursing Home in Elkhorn Wisconsin.

Born Gwendolyn Delle Watson to the late William and Elsie (Witte) Watson on August 9th, 1930 in Fond du Lac Wisconsin.  Gwen’s family relocated to Lake Geneva where she became a member of the graduating class of 1948 from Lake Geneva High School.  After high school Gwen went on to University of Wisconsin Whitewater where she received her Bachelors of Education degree in 1952.  On August 15, 1952 Gwen was united into marriage to Douglas Gerber.

Gwen was a former member of the lioness club. Gwen helped deliver meals with the Meals on Wheels program.  Gwen was heavily involved in community service and she loved to play golf.  Gwen was a member of the 1st Congregational Church in Lake Geneva. Gwen was also an avid sports fan who followed the Wisconsin Badgers, Chicago Cubs, Chicago Blackhawks, University of Wisconsin Whitewater and The Green Bay Packers.

Gwen is survived by her husband of 63 years Doug.  4 children: Greg (Dorothy) Gerber of Williams Bay, WI: Steve Gerber of Burlington, WI: Tom (Pam) Gerber from Arizona and Luanne (Jean) Elie of Florida all survive Gwen.  Gwen, or Nana is survived by 9 grandchildren: Patrick Gerber, Chris Gerber, Jonathan (Sarah) Frankel, Bryan Gerber, Tim Gerber, Eric Gerber, Joey (Bret) Liebmann, Paul (Hillary Rankins) Gerber, and Haley Gerber and 4 great-grandchildren: Paige Gerber, Ashton Frankel, Harper and Sloane Liebmann all survive her.  1 sister: Joyce Millner of Arlington Heights, Illinois also survives Gwen.

Services for Gwen will be held on Friday May 13th, 2016 at the 1st Congregational Church in Lake Geneva.  The service will begin at 1:30pm. A reception will be held immediately after the service and will end at 4:00pm at the church.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the Gerber family has asked that you make a donation in Gwen's name to Alzhemier's Research and to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer research.  Links have been provided below for your convenience.
