Grant Lavon Winger Sr.

Grant L. Winger Sr., 78, of Linn Township, WI, died Wednesday July 1, 2020 at his home. Grant LaVon Winger was born in Viola, WI on April 1, 1942 the son of the late Loren and Myrna (Withrough) Winger.  On December 9, 1961 in Lake Geneva, WI he was united in marriage to the former Georgieanna Patnaude. He had worked for many years as a supervisor for Trostel Manufacturing in Lake Geneva.

He had been an active and faithful member of the Linn Township Fire Department for 32 years, serving as a firefighter, engineer and fire inspector for 32 years.  He enjoyed bowling, golfing  and fishing.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather; he will be greatly missed.

Grant is survived by: Georgie, his wife of 58 years, 5 children; Grant (Kathy) Winger Jr. of Linn Township, WI, Kevin (Jody) Winger of Whitewater, WI, Randy (Pam) Winger of Lake Como, WI,  Teresa (Jay) Dean of Lake Como, WI and Dan (Tina) Winger of Whitewater, WI, 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Jack and Mike and a sister Lorna.

Services for Grant will be held on Monday July 6 at 11:00 a.m. in the main chapel of the Derrick Funeral Home in Lake Geneva.  Visitation will be Sunday, at the funeral home, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  Derrick Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Winger family.  To sign the on-line guest registry click Guest Book.
