Gordon W. “Butch” Jacobson, 93, a lifelong resident of the Lake Geneva area, died Saturday October 26, 2013 at Geneva Lake Manor Nursing Home in Lake Geneva.  Gordon Walter Jacobson was born on February 8, 1920 in Bloomfield Township, WI the son of the late Frank and Emma (Andresen) Jacobson.  He graduated from Lake Geneva High School with the class of 1939.  He was Veteran of World War II serving with the United States Army Air Corps. He worked in management for Dean Foods in Memphis, TN and Little Rock, AR for many years.  After returning to Lake Geneva he worked as a mail carrier for the Lake Geneva Post Office for many years.  On November 29, 1965 in Lake Geneva he was united in marriage to Wilma Habecker Bailey; she preceded him in death on March 25, 2013. He was a talented gardener and won many blue ribbons at the Walworth County Fair. He also loved to play golf at the former Hillmoor Country Club in Lake Geneva.
Butch is survived by: 2 step-children; John “Ike” Bailey of Delavan, WI and Linda (David) Bailey Boilini, a grandson Joseph Boilini and a sister Margaret Peterson of Walworth, WI, a sister-in-law Betty Ely of Lady Lake, FL, a brother-in-law Gunnar Peterson of Hudson, WI and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters; Evelyn Hansen, Irene Peterson and Doris Williams.
Services for Butch will be held on Friday November 1, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of the Derrick Funeral Home 800 Park Dr. Lake Geneva, WI; Reverend David Strang Pastor of the First Congregational U.C.C in Lake Geneva will officiate.  Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Geneva.  Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of other expressions of sympathy memorials are requested in Butch’s name to: the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 715 Wisconsin St., Lake Geneva, WI  53147.  To sign the on-line guest registry click view/sign condolence book at the bottom of this page.
