Gerhard P. Kolb, 83, of Lyndon Station, WI, died Monday May 26, 2014 at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Madison, WI. Gerhard Paul Kolb was born in Ludwigshafen, Germany on February 2, 1931 the son of the late Franz and Maria (Meisersik) Kolb. On November 28, 1953, in Helmsheim, Germany, he was united in marriage to the former Helga Roederer. He and his family arrived in the United States from Germany on June 7, 1957. He was trained as a cabinet maker in Germany and after coming to America he worked as a carpenter.
Gerhard is survived by: Helga, his wife of 60 years, 6 sons; Peter (Susanne) Kolb of Gurnee, IL, Alexander (Deborah) Kolb of Woodland Hills, CA, John (Johanna) Kolb of Newport Beach, CA, Mark (Suzanne Switzer) Kolb of Champaign, IL, Joseph (Ursula) Kolb of West Fargo, ND and Christopher Kolb of Lincolnshire, IL, and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 8 brothers and 3 sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said Monday, June 2, 2014, 11:30 a.m., at Saint Francis deSales Catholic Church, 148 Main St., Lake Geneva, WI; Father Jim Schuerman will officiate. Burial will follow in Saint Francis deSales Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, in church, from 9:30 a.m. until service time.
