Geraldine “Geri” Leonard, 66, of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin (Linn Township), passed away peacefully on May 9th, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Geri was born on April 5, 1959, to the late Bert and Marjorie (Fitzgerald) Fish in Belvidere, Illinois. She grew up in Marengo, Illinois where she attended Marengo High School, graduating in 1977. After high school, Geri attended McHenry County College where she earned an associate’s degree in Horticulture. On September 24, 1983, Geri was united in marriage to William “Bill” Leonard, of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, at Ridgefield Presbyterian Church in Ridgefield, Illinois.
Geri was an active member of Linn Presbyterian church, serving many years and terms as a deacon. She loved being outdoors, working in her flower beds and tending to her many indoor plants. Geri loved the music of the 70’s and was a self-proclaimed Parrot Head, her favorite artist being Jimmy Buffett. Despite growing up in Illinois, Geri saw the light upon moving to Wisconsin and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, rarely missing the opportunity to watch their games during football season. Geri was a fantastic wife, a loving mother, and doting grandmother. She loved spending time with her entire family and especially babysitting her five grandkids almost every morning.
Geri is survived by her husband of 41 years, Bill Leonard of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin; four children: Bill Leonard Jr., Joe (Julie) Leonard, Megan Leonard, and Michelle Leonard; five grandchildren: Jenavieve, Jordy, Judd, Jett, and Jameson; and two siblings: Dick (Trish) Fish and Bob (Corinne) Fish. Geri was preceded in death by her parents Bert and Marjorie and one sibling, Dennis (Lin, surviving) Fish.

On Saturday, May 17th, 2025, visitation will again take place beginning at 10:00am, with a Celebration of the Resurrection service following at 11:00am, again at Linn Presbyterian.
