Gerald J. Niewoehner, 79, of Lake Geneva, formerly of Clarendon Hills, Illinois, passed away on January 17th, 2025, at Mercy Walworth Hospital.
Born July 13th, 1945, to the late Bernard and Virginia (nee Vogel) Niewoehner in St. Louis, Missouri, Gerry grew up in the Dutchtown neighborhood of St. Louis. He graduated from St. Anthony grammar school and then attended high school at St. Joseph Seminary in Westmont, Illinois, where he graduated in 1963. He worked as a corporate psychologist for 40 years, for the business consulting firm Roher, Hibler & Replogle (now RHR International), and later as an independent consultant.
Gerry loved golfing, a love that his son and grandsons inherited. He was a longtime member of Geneva National Golf Club and resident of the community for 30 years. Gerry was an avid reader, a loyal Chicago Cubs and Bears fan, and a friend to many. In his retirement, Gerry was a wood worker and some of his favorite projects included making cutting boards for friends and family.
Gerry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Lou (nee Kennedy); his two children, Megan (John) O’Donnell and Josh Niewoehner; his three grandchildren Maeve, Emmett, and Ronan O’Donnell; one brother, Kevin (Tricia) Niewoehner; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Gene (Carola) Niewoehner.
